computers are way more accesible to modifications than console systems are. how do you think people play WoW on private servers? anyways, i really dont think blizzard is gonna release any decent games in a long time since the "old" blizzard crew (the guys who made starcraft) left. starcraft for teh win!

I saw a cheapo server for like 400 dollars or something. So if you have cash to spare, room in your house, and good at avoiding the law, you could probably set up a private server. That would be awesome though. Starcraft is nice, but the cartoon animations of warcraft are a nice touch. It's hard to say which is better though.

i have a spare comp that i could run a server off of. just tell me if you need it and ill configure it. plus, i can get the server files of most games as they are free.

Why are we just talking about Blizzard? There are other major companies in the industry, like Sierra, Valve (the HL games and such, but they also make other games), and Ubisoft. Just wondering why these companies weren't brought up.
Also, in my opinion, it is easier to fiddle around with computers when it comes to gaming. With an entire keyboard, you can have 1 button that does a different function, rather than having one button do multiple functions, like on a gamepad. However, fiddling around takes time and some expertise, so for people who don't care, a console is good enough.

You can generate any item you want, attain pretty much any level, and you can punch out any boss in the game...
